Sobremesa
A dining room and a library, renovated for a couple who love to host, and love to disappear into a book once the guests go home.
The dining room carries the theatre. Walls in a chinoiserie wallpaper of birds and blossom, an amber crystal chandelier holding court above the table, brushed brass light against soft plaster, and chairs in deep green velvet drawn up for long evenings. Elegance with real character, designed around entertaining.
The library answers it quietly. The room's natural curves set the plan, and everything follows them: a curved velvet sofa tracing the bay, a sculptural timber table at its centre, and a cascading branch detail in the wallpaper, trailing from the cornice beneath a fall of crystal. A serene room for two avid readers, made for unwinding as the evening settles in.
